Dave Curran, executive director of the ESG + Law Institute and co-chair of the Paul, Weiss ESG Advisory Practice, spoke with LegalTech News about the role in-house counsel can play to help companies mitigate the risk of generative AI interfering with ESG goals.
In “Can In-House Counsel Mitigate Emerging Technology’s ESG Impact?,” published on October 24, Dave discusses the responsibility of in-house counsel in evaluating generative AI accuracy and whether it is being used responsibly to help their organization with ESG compliance.
“For a company to say that it’s using AI responsibly and ethically, that requires a lot of work, and that’s where lawyers are the ones who are pressure testing those claims,” he says. “Their job is to make sure that they’re supporting the company and its business initiatives at minimal risk.”
